Howard Merson

In 2013, Howard designed and managed the nation’s first energy efficiency HVAC / R supply channel platform for Efficiency Vermont’s statewide utility program. That platform engaged 16 distributors in 48 locations within three years, representing 98 percent of the state’s HVAC/R distributors and 99+ percent of Vermont’s market share. Howard’s success across the United States is based on a solid interdisciplinary background in operations, business development, supply chain management, strategic planning, and financial management. He is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences for the supply chain managers and the energy efficiency industry. Howard started his career with his family’s business, Southern Electric Supply. The company merged with Rexel (France) in 1986. Before joining Energy Solutions, he was with VEIC and Rexel’s US division, and GE Capital Services leading GE Capital’s Strategic Sourcing initiatives. Howard has a Master of Science in Management as a Sloan Fellow from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and his undergraduate in Commerce & Business Administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurship from the University of Alabama.
