Provide utilities with decision-making support and technical and regulatory research capabilities to encourage the adoption of PEV infrastructure building standards for new construction.
Energy Solutions developed a proposed PEV charging readiness building standard for residential new construction in California on behalf of California investor-owned utilities. The voluntary PEV readiness standard became effective in July 2012 as part of CALGreen Standards. We are also supporting the adoption of mandatory PEV readiness standards for residential and commercial new construction.
Energy Solutions prepared a plug-in electric vehicle infrastructure cost-effectiveness study in 2016 to show the benefits of including PEV infrastructure in buildings during construction and to support local government reach code adoption.
