Technical Director, Lighting
Mr. Barker is a Professional Electrical Engineer. His areas of technical expertise include LED systems, commercial and industrial controls, large facility auditing, building energy modeling, measure development, and energy data gathering and reporting. Mr. Barker has managed energy-efficiency lighting programs for 14 years, including small-business direct-install services, owner representation for large government facilities, lighting and controls measure development, large commercial technical review, and emerging technology & analyses. Mr. Barker’s new methodology for calculating lighting savings based on light output has been recommended for wider adoption by the Ex Ante Review team. Mr. Barker leads Energy Solutions’ Wireless Controls technical team, and has managed technical teams that served the entire state of California under the ARRA-funded Energy Technology Assistance Program (ETAP). Mr. Barker has been a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and Lighting Certified (LC) by the NCQLP since 2008.
